DJ LeMahieu spent more time recovering from a left calf strain than he needed to. However, the 36-year-old New York Yankees infielder wanted to make sure he is 100% healthy before returning to Aaron Boone’s lineup.

Speaking with reporters on Sunday, Yankees manager Aaron Boone left the door open for LeMahieu to rejoin the team as soon as Monday in Seattle but stopped short of declaring that the veteran infielder has an everyday playing role upon his return.
